Archery
Archery is held on The College at Brockport campus next to the Tuttle Athletic building. Archery is taught to campers if they choose to participate. Campers have the opportunity to shoot towards the balloons placed around the target.

Canoeing/Kayaking
Campers get the opportunity to canoe and/or kayak on the Erie Canal, which is within walking distance of The College at Brockport. The aquatics staff is on duty during activities in the canal.

Gymnastics
Gymnastics takes place in the afternoon at the university in their gymnastic training facility. Campers are given the opportunity to participate in all women’s & men’s competitive gymnastics events while learning basic skills. Campers are also given the chance to use the trampoline and jump in the foam pit blocks, two of the favorite activities!

Judo
Judo is taught to all campers during the morning activities. Gees are provided and the students are paired with both campers and counselors during instruction. Students learn proper techniques to fall before learning any throwing techniques. Some campers are lucky enough for a chance to throw the instructor!

Rollerblading
Rollerblading is one of the evening activities the campers can participate in, which is held on campus in between the dorms. Campers and counselors may choose to participate in this recreational activity to challenge their balance and agility. Roller blades and appropriate protective gear is provided.

Tandem Biking
Tandem biking is one of the camp's morning activities. Campers are able to choose to ride an individual bike or tandem bike. Campers learn bike safety and awareness before riding bikes around a course in the parking lot.

Beep Baseball
Beep baseball is played outside of the Tuttle Athletic Building on the Special Olympics Field and is part of the morning session. Beep baseball teaches the campers the rules, base running, fielding the ball, and batting. Some campers have been chosen to perform an exhibition game in the pregame of the Rochester Redwings baseball game in Rochester, NY.

Goalball
Goalball takes place in the Tuttle South Gymnasium and is part of the afternoon session. Goalball is a Paralympic sport specific to children with visual impairments. Children are taught rules, diving to block a ball & rolling a ball to score a goal during camp instruction.

Horseback Riding
Horses are brought in from Clarkson Rodeo Days. Horseback riding is one of the evening activities the campers may choose to participate in during camp.

Rock Climbing
Rock climbing helps build confidence and self-esteem while being an enjoyable and social activity. A rockwall is made available for two campers to climb at a time. Campers are encouraged to climb the rock wall and ring the bell at the top with the help of verbal instruction from a counselor.

Swimming
Swimming is split into 2 sessions, with 5 aquatic instructors supervising instruction during the swimming session. Campers are placed into groups according to their present level of swimming ability. Throughout the week they practice improving their swimming skills and have the opportunity to try new things they may have never been able to do before. Swimmers are encouraged to work towards achieving Red Cross swimming level skill cards.

Track & Field
During track & field athletes learn different running techniques to use such as sighted guide, a guide wire, and tether. Athletes are encouraged to choose a technique that is most comfortable for them while they work on their cardiovascular endurance each day. Athletes are also given the opportunity to throw the shot put, discus, javelin, and participate in the long jump.

Showdown
Showdown is a fast-moving sport originally designed for people with a visual impairment, but you don't have to be blind to play! Showdown was brought to Camp Abilities Brockport by Conny Nygren from Sweden. Showdown is an evening activity for our campers and counselors to enjoy!
